NMB was partially privatised on September 30th 2005. Originating from a split off from the NBC bank in 1997, NMB had been under Government contracted management during the years before privatisation, with a focus on payment services and microfinance lending.
Under new management from Rabobank (A large Dutch co-operative bank with a strong background in retail and agricultural banking, and the only large international triple A bank), NMB will focus on increasing the outreach and service quality of its banking products for the Tanzanian people. Next to its current leading position in Microfinance, NMB will further develop its services for the sectors of Microfinance, SME’s and the Agricultural supply chain.
With 108 branches, 1600 staff, the highest level of deposits, savings and current accounts and the highest profitability of the banks in Tanzania, NMB is uniquely positioned to become the strongest commercial bank in Tanzania.
As the financial sector is rapidly developing in Tanzania and in order to deliver upon its strategies, NMB is looking for Tanzanians with western banking experience who are interested in becoming part of the journey to professionalise the bank and help in developing the Tanzanian economy as a whole.
NMB is especially interested in:
- Credit managers and credit analysts with a couple of years experience in this area in the SME segment in European/American banks.
- SME account managers with experience in this field in European/American banks.
- HR professionals with some years of experience in a modern HR environment to become zonal HR generalist.
- Financial analysts with experience in either MIS, Financial Reporting, Treasury.
- General banking trainees
The bank is financially strong, with a good profitability and the largest branch network in Tanzania. In order to reach its goals, the NMB will, in the coming years invest heavily in its distribution network, its business systems and its human capital.
