Dangote Cement
Dangote Cement is the clear market leader in the fast growing Nigerian Cement Sector. This leadership position is set to be enhanced by significant expansion across Africa as the continent is currently experiencing its most favourable economic conditions. Announced investments include a greenfield plant in Senegal and participation in Sephaku Cement in South Africa. A significant number of other countries are also being considered for greenfield, brownfield and/or M&A.
As a result of these developments Dangote Cement are looking to hire a Strategy/Financial Analyst with potential to grow into a management position within the Group on a 2-3 year horizon, most probably in one of the African markets. As a member the Strategy and Business Development Team you would be based in London with some anticipated travel.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain a database covering developments in the cement and building materials sector whilst maintaining contact with the banking analysts covering the sector. Produce regular news update reports for the department and for the company Executive Committee.
• Produce and maintain country reports on target countries - initially in Africa, but likely to extend to the Middle East, the Indian Sub continent and further a field.
• Provide support which would include but not be restricted to financial analysis and evaluations for proposed investments – greenfield, brownfield or M&A.
Profile:
• Educated to degree level and preferably a recently qualified MBA
• Gained experience within a consulting or banking/M&A background
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling and valuation
• Exposure to construction materials sector (particularly cement) is a significant plus, as would knowledge of Africa
• Self starter and team player possessing excellent presentation/communication skills and all round computer literacy are a must
• All applicants must possess work authorisation for at least one African country with a desire to relocate to Africa in the medium term
