A Day in the life of an Events Manager – Lindsay Storie
After growing up in South Africa, joining Global Career Company offered me the perfect opportunity to live in London but still work with and travel to Africa on a constant basis. I began working at Global Career Company three years ago and have grown ever since. Starting as an Events Executive assisting on our portfolio of events, I quickly grew in to the role of Events Manager where I now oversee all of our International Recruitment Summits, industry leading Conferences and our Employer of Choice Award dinners.
It is fair to say with such a diverse offering of services, no two days are ever the same here at Global Career Company, as one day the team and I could be running our Careers in Africa Recruitment Summit in New York, the next sat in Johannesburg at one of our Conferences. When I am not travelling my day would be made up of client calls with some of the world’s biggest multinationals, through to venue and supplier searches to ensure we host every event in the perfect location for those attending and with the best possible image. The afternoons are mainly made up of internal meetings ensuring the teams are aligned and projects are on track for delivery.
The team is probably the biggest reason I enjoy my role as much as I do as it is a closely knit team of highly skilled individuals from around the globe working together to ensure we deliver beyond our clients expectations.
A day in the life of a Client Services Manager – Annie Min
As a Client Service Manager at Global Career Company my role involves delivering world class recruitment services to our global based clients, through our products including Search & Selection, Recruitment Campaigns and Recruitment Summits.
Dealing with various exciting and challenging recruitment projects, I coordinate recruitment services and support our client services team. With clients from different industries and countries who are recruiting different nationalities my experience of international recruitment consultancy means that we can deliver results in international markets to recruit diaspora talents. My focus is always to look at how to fit our services into our clients’ people strategy to become their long term partners. My deep understanding of clients’ industry, business strategy and culture are key skills to help me achieve results.
I enjoy working within an international team. The different cultures, foods, music and languages make Global Career Company a fun place to work!
Prior to joining Global Career Company, I had 10 years recruitment experience both within recruitment agencies and corporate environments, ranging from entry level positions to top level executives. For me, leading my team to attract and source excellence across the world and find them bright career opportunities back in their home countries is such a fantastic job! There are not many other platforms that allow you to deep study and understand different African or Asian cultures and customs and to liaise with such an amazing talent pool!
